Las Vegas, Tuesday evening

Isabel was still mumbling under her breath when she banged through the door of her apartment. Ignoring anyone else that might be around, she headed straight for the kitchen and the pint of Hagen-Daaz that was hidden in the back of the freezer.

"Don't understand my ass. I understand damn well. You're an idiot."

She stabbed the spoon into the container and decided that it was one of those time where drowning her angst in ice cream was the only acceptable solution.

"I feel bad for Sue," Savannah said quietly. "She's really angry at Johnny for this, but he's also her brother. She and Ben keep calling me to tell me that I still have a home with them, but... I can't right now. Maybe one day I'll be that evolved and it won't hurt to be near him again, but right now I'm just not that big of a person. I can't be near him even on an ice cold visitor level. I don't think I can even be friends with him again, Isabel, and that part hurts almost as bad as what he did."

She shook her head. "No way. I don't think I'm ready to be doing anything with another guy, and as much as I adore Adam, if I'm any where around him right now it will end up with me calling you and Wyatt to help me get Adam out of jail for going to kick Johnny's ass. You know he never liked Johnny that much."

She cleared her throat. "I mailed Johnny my engagement ring this morning."

"And all of that is completely understandable. It's your choice at this point. Whatever you want and whatever makes you feel better," Isabel replied. "Plus you're right. We'd definitely have to bail Adam out and that would be bad." Also, she mused to herself, it might be better for Savannah to heal a bit before she saw Adam. Who knew what would happen then.

"Ouch. Between my reading him the riot act and that. That's going to get ugly. Block his number on your phone." There wasn't going to be a bottle of booze safe in New York.

"Besides, Johnny already has an ass-kicking coming from Wyatt. It doesn't seem fair to let Adam go after him, too... not that I'm really feeling like being fair to him right now. And it would fall to Sue, Ben and Reed to clean up New York after that little fire fight."

She sighed. "I don't know if it was the right thing to do or not, but it hurt so much to have it any where near me right now. I thought it would also show him that I really am hurt and serious about leaving him." She took a shuddering breath. "Nothing else seemed to make him realize just how bad all of this was."

She had put her previous wedding ring and other rings from him in her safe deposit box because she couldn't stand to get rid of everything that he had given her when he did care about her as much as she did him.

"Three alpha males with issues. Yeah, that would get ugly."

With a shrug, Isabel tossed her empty ice cream container into the trash. "I don't think there's any one specific right or wrong in this case. You just have to go with what feels right. And if you don't want a reminder of his broken promises then you're perfectly within your rights to mail it back to him."

"New York City would never be the same in that case."

Savannah rinsed her spoon off in the sink and was surprised that she had emptied her ice cream, as well. She tossed it before leaning against the counter.

"I don't think I need a reminder because I don't think I'll ever be able to forget walking in and seeing them." Her shrug was a little less careless than it would usually be. "Maybe it will serve as a wake up call and protect the next girl he gets involved with."
