Meerkat Cabin, Isabel's Alcove B?, Saturday Afternoon

After waking up and then going back to sleep for a few hours, Isabel showered and changed at the dorms, and then returned to Meerkat cabin regretably missing the Stickbug peace offering and any subsequent chaos because RL won't let me be around for it.

After listening to the radio broadcast, she was somewhat relieved to hear only minimal mention of what she did at Caritas and no mention of who she left with or where they went. Now she just had to work up the courage to face Bel, Parker, and Aeryn. Hiding behind a half closed curtain and staring at the ceiling is a good way to start.

Sometime after whatever chaos said "peace offering" brought, Aeryn knocks on the nearest wall. See, doors would be nice. She likes doors. "Isabel?"

"Aeryn. Hi," Isabel said sheepishly. "Did you have a nice time last night?"

"It was very strange, on several different levels," she says. "You?"

"It was different," she said shaking her head and sighing. "I accidently took a drink from Jack's glass. It had booze in it."

"You really weren't kidding about the effect of alcohol," she says, kind of unnecessarily. "I tried to check on you this morning."

"Jack walked me back to the dorms," Isabel replied. "It was much easier and faster then walking back here."

Aeryn wonders if she has to shoot him, but doesn't ask. "Feeling any better, at least?"

If Aeryn had asked Isabel would have told her that no, he did not need to be shot and in fact deserved a medal for putting up with her. "I'm feeling fine. The good thing is, apparently I don't get hangovers. The bad thing? I remember every little detail. Vividly."

"Hm. I was going to say the hangover thing wasn't fair, but it does balance out, it seems," she tells her. "At the very least, it was entertaining. If worrying."

"It balances out, definitely," Isabel agreed. "I should also point out that happened as the result of two swallows of Jack's bourbon and coke. I've redefined the term 'light-weight'." She shook her head and looked down, "I'm sorry if I worried you. And I'm sorry about the hugging to. I was just happy," she chuckled.

"Don't worry about it," she says. "I've actually had more random hugs. And at least you seemed to be having a good time with it." Yeah, she's not so good with the sympathetic.

"Thanks," Isabel smiled. "And I was having a good time of it then. Today? I'm a little embarassed. But it could have been a lot worse so I'll deal."

"The last time I had too much to drink, I groped John in a room full of people to make sure he wasn't sitting on Xander's frog."

Isabel blinked. "You might win. But I think gushing at Bel, hugging you and hugging Parker as well as attempting to maul Jack comes in a close second."

"People have done worse," she says. "And you didn't even drink on purpose, so..."

"So I'm chalking it up to one of life's experiences," she said. "And hoping to never repeat it. I don't like being out of control like that."

"Ramblings and huggings aren't that bad, either," she says, and from Aeryn, that's something. "You hugged Parker?"

Isabel nodded, "I hugged Parker. I hugged you. I was living dangerously."

"I'm not holding it against you," she assures her. "There's that much."

"Thank you," Isabel replied with a smile. "So what was going on in the bar last night? I thought I saw you behind it at one point."

"I throw drinks in that bartender's face sometimes for entertainment," she says. "He tried to kick me out, I went behind the bar, and he ran away."

Isabel rolled her eyes, "Considering he hit on me when he drove me to the prom? I'd like to join in the next time you do so. But forget the drinks, I think I'll just throw the bottle." She snickered, "At least he has some sense, if he ran away."

"He also came back," she says. "Not too much sense. But at least I didn't have to pay."

"Point. But still, free drinks are always good." Isabel raised an eyebrow, "Did the Stickbugs give you any trouble?"

"Not really. I made Cameron take off his hat, threw cherries at Greg and Jamie was actually normal," she says. "Not a good idea to irritate the person behind the bar."
