406, Monday afternoon

After a long, hot shower, Isabel finally felt warm. It's not that she didn't enjoy canoeing. She really did. It was the dumping part she could have done without. Now she's relaxing with a hot chocolate and her trashy novel.

Peter put on his best English accent. "He said, 'Do anything like that with her and you won't live to regret it, right?'"

Isabel snickered some more. "You couldn't play the superhero card?"

"Not really. They know I'm a good fighter, but I'm not sure if Zero ever fully explained about me and what I am," Peter said. "Their world doesn't have superheroes or anything, so I didn't want to weird them out too much unless she was willing to go there."

"Understandable," she said, finally managing to stop giggling. "Roswell's superhero free as well. We just have those damn pesky aliens. Still, you survived the weekend and they're still letting Zero come back in the fall. So overall it could have been much worse."

"Very true. And now my hair is back to normal, too, which makes me happy, thank you," Peter said. "So, what have you been up to this weekend besides sleeping in my bunk, so not dirty."

"So not dirty," Isabel agreed. "The luau was fun. But overall I was pretty sloth-like for the weekend. The big excitement was moving back up here yesterday. And then Greg and I went canoeing today."

Peter checked his watch, set the stopwatch function, and began. "Awwwwwwww one point three seconds."

Isabel rolled her eyes. "You like doing that don't you?"

"I find it amusing, yes," Peter said. "So, how did that go?"

"It was very nice," she said. "We went around to the preserve and picnicked on the beach. You and Zero should try when she gets back. It's nice over there." There was no way Isabel was mentioning the dumping to Peter, it just wouldn't be pretty.

"I'll keep that in mind," Peter said. "Thanks for the suggestion."

"Anytime," she smiled. "Also? Ask Greg about the candle thing. That was really pretty. And if you even think about saying Aww, I will hit you."

"Awwwww," Peter said. He leaned toward the door, prepared to flee. "I didn't think about it, I just said it. So there."

"Smartass..." Isabel muttered. But she was smiling.

"Like you didn't know that already," Peter said. "Okay, I'll stop bugging you now. Thanks for the hair and the ear."
