I Just Want To Be Normal

"I've not seen either," Peter said like that should be a surprise. "Therefore whichever you girls would like." He glanced at Greg. "Unless that's a bad idea?"

"I'm fine with letting the girls choose," Greg said with a slight nod to Peter. "On the condition that we get to do our own running commentary? Otherwise our testosterone will slowly be siphoned into the television and really, no one wants to see us with high estrogen levels."

"Definitely no one does," Peter said with a definite nod. "Or we'll end up doing our nails next, and that couldn't be a pretty picture."

"Why not?" Isabel asked. "Painted nails are pretty? I still don't understand why Gregette didn't stick around to get her nails done at the slumber party." Laughing she popped the movine it the player and started it before taking a seat on her bed. "You guys can do running commentary, but Willow and I reserve the right to thwap with pillows if necessary."

"Actually we reserve the right to point out all the homoerotic tension between the two male leads of the other movie," Willow said. Then, possibly realizing that she'd just spoken out loud, added, "Not that anyone here would write anything like that. Hey, is that soda?"

Greg wrinkled his nose. "They're so not each other's type," he argued. "There's too much randomness for tension. I demand evidence of this."

And then he realized just how gay he sounded, and said, "Why yes, it is soda, would you care for one, Willow?"

Willow gave a vigorous nod and took a seat. To Peter, she said, "You'll like the first movie. It's got all sorts of old songs in it. I think you might know some of them."

Peter laughed and sat by Willow. "I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. What's the picture about?"

From:

Willow snuggled up next to him. She grinned at him. "This couple that falls for each other. Try really hard to see if you can relate."

From:

"I'll do my best then," Peter said, grinning back at her. "Stretch my imagination a bit."

Really the only way that Willow could answer that was with a kiss.

Just in case there was any confusion there about where her lips were going.

"Hey!" Isabel said tossing a handful of popcorn at them. "The movie hasn't even started yet!"

"And note - the pair banters for a moment prior to the actual act. This is a well-known aspect of the mating ritual, and necessary in most cultures for nearly all sexually dimorphic and/or otherwise interesting humans and sub-species thereof," Greg narrated in a hushed, slightly accented voice. "Coming up next on Animal Planet, we have footage of the rare and fascinating use of popcorn for ritual-interruption purposes."

He snagged a bit and copied what Isabel had done.

Peter snagged a piece of the popcorn and threw it back at Greg. "Your accent is rubbish, you know."

"I was mimicking that guy on TV and also Aeryn's accent inspired me today," Greg told him, totally not even trying to duck the popcorn. He knew he deserved it. "I think my accent was kind of awesome."

"Aeryn's got no taste anyway," Willow said, thinking of Jamie. Then, remembering, she added. "Oh! Not that that matters anymore. Okay. Never mind. She can have all the rubbish accent she likes."

"Well I think it was a nice accent," Isabel smiled, leaning over to give Greg a quick kiss. "Next I want to hear your speech on the long rivalry of the stickbugs and the meerkats."

"And see, this is the well-known courtship of alien girl and human boy," he started in the accent, and then stopped. "Movie's starting! I'll stop with the accent for now."

"You'll have to tell me the rest of that story later," she smiled, settling comfortably against Greg's side.

"Can I get you guys anything?" she asked, glancing over at Willow and Peter.

"No, thank you," Peter said with a smile as he stole some ~~ammunition~~ popcorn. He grinned. "And you could comment on the movie in your 'accent,' Greg."

"I could, since I know you all appreciate it," Greg said in a slightly more Australian accent. The sad thing was that he totally thought it was the same one as earlier.

"You could be a cowboy," Willow said to Peter. "Greg could go 'what what?' and you could reply with 'y'all'."

From:

"Ah s'pose Ah could," Peter said in a very, very bad cowboy accent. "Then we'd go out an' protect the cattle from th' rustlers."

Willow? Really should not have been drinking just then.
