Room 406, Tuesday Evening

Figuring that watching movies on the laptop would require a bit too much togetherness for four people, Isabel had handwavily borrowed Jack's TV and DVD player. They're set up on Xander's old desk along with a bowl of popcorn and a plate of brownies. The fridge is stocked with sodas and bottled water. The DVDs arrived this morning. All that's needed is for the guests to arrive.

"Hey!" Isabel said tossing a handful of popcorn at them. "The movie hasn't even started yet!"

"And note - the pair banters for a moment prior to the actual act. This is a well-known aspect of the mating ritual, and necessary in most cultures for nearly all sexually dimorphic and/or otherwise interesting humans and sub-species thereof," Greg narrated in a hushed, slightly accented voice. "Coming up next on Animal Planet, we have footage of the rare and fascinating use of popcorn for ritual-interruption purposes."

He snagged a bit and copied what Isabel had done.

Peter snagged a piece of the popcorn and threw it back at Greg. "Your accent is rubbish, you know."

"I was mimicking that guy on TV and also Aeryn's accent inspired me today," Greg told him, totally not even trying to duck the popcorn. He knew he deserved it. "I think my accent was kind of awesome."

"Aeryn's got no taste anyway," Willow said, thinking of Jamie. Then, remembering, she added. "Oh! Not that that matters anymore. Okay. Never mind. She can have all the rubbish accent she likes."

"Well I think it was a nice accent," Isabel smiled, leaning over to give Greg a quick kiss. "Next I want to hear your speech on the long rivalry of the stickbugs and the meerkats."

"And see, this is the well-known courtship of alien girl and human boy," he started in the accent, and then stopped. "Movie's starting! I'll stop with the accent for now."

"You'll have to tell me the rest of that story later," she smiled, settling comfortably against Greg's side.

"Can I get you guys anything?" she asked, glancing over at Willow and Peter.

"No, thank you," Peter said with a smile as he stole some ammunition popcorn. He grinned. "And you could comment on the movie in your 'accent,' Greg."

"I could, since I know you all appreciate it," Greg said in a slightly more Australian accent. The sad thing was that he totally thought it was the same one as earlier.

"You could be a cowboy," Willow said to Peter. "Greg could go 'what what?' and you could reply with 'y'all'."

"Ah s'pose Ah could," Peter said in a very, very bad cowboy accent. "Then we'd go out an' protect the cattle from th' rustlers."

Willow? Really should not have been drinking just then.

Soda up the nose.

Peter patted Willow on the back, trying not to laugh. "Are you going to survive?" he asked, back in his normal accent. "Should we take the soda away from you?"

Willow handed her soda to Peter so she wouldn't spill it. She then pinched the bridge of her nose, still giggling. "Ow. Ow. Bubbles in sinuses is a totally weird feeling."

"Don't you hate that?" Isabel asked, wrinkling her nose. "It's part tickle, part pain. But definitely weird."

"Especially when you think they're going up into your eyeballs," Willow agreed.

"Don't ever let it happen when you're drinking an ice cream soda laced with Tabasco. That brings it up to a whole new level of OW!" she said seriously.

"Yeah, I can see how that would be - " Willow trailed off. "Wait, what?"

"It's an alien thing," Isabel shrugged. "We like things with strong flavors, particularly spicy stuff. And spicy with sweet is even better. I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself though, just ask Greg."

"I thought my tongue was going to fall off," Greg said, nodding. "I was all, 'Hey, why don't I be sweet and romantic and eat what she's eating,' and I've learned that that's really kind of a stupid idea. It's not romantic or exotic. It's kind of the opposite."

"You should've tried tea," Willow said. "Tea makes everything better."

"Tea's kind of ick," Greg commented, wrinking his nose.

Peter may have been slightly aghast. Slightly may be a British understatement. "Have you ever had real tea?" he asked.

"Um, yeah," Greg said. "Like Lipton and Nestea and stuff."
