Room 406, Later in the evening.

After visiting Jack, Isabel had returned to her room and started rereading Storms of Silver in preparation for Saturday's book signing.

The door was closed.

Since he was going to be heading back home next week, it was time for Peter to do something that would keep his Aunt May from killing him when she saw him.

He knocked on the door. "Candygram."

"It's open," Isabel called. "And it had better be chocolate!"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Peter opened the door and walked in. "Actually, I was just saying 'candygram.' It's a fun word."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Now I'm disappointed," she teased. "I had my heart set on Godiva."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it's funny you should mention that, because I need my hair back to its normal color," Peter said, going for a complete non sequitur.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Whoa," Isabel said, reaching up to rub her neck. "That conversation changed so fast I got whiplash."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I have the proportionate topic switching abilities of a spider," Peter said. "And I use it because I don't have any Godiva chocolate to give you and I'm going home next week and my aunt needs to not kill me."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll keep the pouting to a minimum then. And go visit Parker tomorrow to raid her stash." Isabel motioned for Peter to take a seat. "That would definitely be bad. Take a seat, you know the drill."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Parker has a chocolate stash? That doesn't surprise me for some reason," Peter said, sitting down. "Thank you again for doing this. It's very useful to have a friend who can do what you do in situations like this."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't tell her I told you. She'd shoot me." She held out her hand, running it through Peter's hair and quickly changing it back to his usual color. "I suppose keeping you alive counts as using my powers for good," Isabel chuckled.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd argue that's true," Peter said, running a hand through his hair. The hair that ended up dropping down over his forehead was indeed brown. "That will never stop being freaky or awesome. Nicely done."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Isabel grinned. "Thanks, for some reason I've been getting lots of practice this summer. That's what? The third or fourth time I've changed it isn't it?"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Fourth, but if you'll kindly remember, the first time wasn't my decision," Peter said.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
It was difficult to look innocent when you're smirking, so Isabel gave up. "You guys deserved it. There were ducks for heavens sake!"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Still, it was your decision to change my hair, not mine," Peter reaffirmed, smiling. "Just getting that out there."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
"True, but it still counts as practice." She sat back, crossing her legs. "So how long will you be gone for? Not that I worry or anything."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Sunday to Thursday," Peter said. "Just enough time to visit some friends, get some swing time in, and start to miss everyone here."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Isabel nodded. "That's how it usually works for me. Although there's no swing time. Instead I'm usually being annoyed by Max."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
"I live the fun life with no siblings," Peter said. "Granted, I get the supervillains annoying me, which may be better or worse, I'm not sure."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
"You can beat the crap out of the supervillians and get away with it," she pointed out. "I start bouncing Max off the walls? My mom is going to start wondering why. And how. Which would not be good."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
"But it would feel good, you have to admit that," Peter joked.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh god yes." Isabel rolled her eyes, "Would you believe that I really haven't spoken to him since I was home in July? I've been getting indirect messages when I talk to Maria and Liz. But we're both still in avoidance mode. It's easier for now."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Wow," Peter said. "I'm sure that you'll get things patched up soon enough. And then bicker more and end up not speaking again in time. It cycles like that, right?"

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Eventually," she agreed. "Once he gets out of extreme stupid mode."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
"And from what I know of him, that may be a while," Peter said.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Sometimes I think hell will freeze over first," Isabel said with a wry smile. "Or that I'll look out the window and see flying pigs."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
"They can do wild things with genetics these days. The day of the flying pig is sooner than you think," Peter said.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Given the levels of stubbornness and stupidity he's been reaching? That's entirely possible," she agreed. "And can I say what a scary thought flying pigs are? Compared to bird droppings? Gah!"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
"And with that lovely image, I'm out of here. Thanks again for the hair. I appreciate it," Peter said.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Sorry about that," Isabel chuckled. "Have a safe trip!" She watched him leave, still amused, then picked up her book and started to read.
