I Just Want To Be Normal

Greg tiptoed in and over to her, before kneeling by the bed. He brushed a little hair away from her face. "Hey."

Isabel blinked sleepily and then smiled. "Hey yourself. How are you?"

From:

"Dandy. Are you okay?" he asked, his eyes roving and taking inventory.

From:

"Other then being tired? I'm perfectly fine," she assured him. "No bumps, no bruises, no cuts, no scrapes. We're all fine. And even more importantly? We got her back."

From:

"Good," Greg murmured, moving up to curl around her on the bed. "And no one hurt you at all?"

From:

Isabel snuggled into him, much more comfortable then she'd been in the Prowler or the transport pod. "Well some toad like thing tried to hurt my feelings. I told her to piss off."

"That's my girl," he said into her hair.

From:

"Well she pissed me off," she explained, tipping her head up to plant a kiss on his chin. "She interrupted a conversation I was having with someone who was willing to help just to insult him. And then she insulted me. So I told her off and she left. Then there was the guy that wanted our garbage. He was willing to give us information for my empty water bottles. Then he hit on Luke."

"Empty water bottles are currency?"

From:

"For him yes. Of course when he found out who we were looking for he wanted nothing to do with us," Isabel said, reaching for his hand and tangling their fingers together.

"Well, at least he had water bottles to keep him company," he murmured.

Parker was taking a break from all the homework, and decided to check in on Isabel, since she'd never stopped by to pick up the keys to the Miata, or returned Parker's voicemail. Plus, she had amusement to share.

"Isabel?" she poked her head in. "You busy? What happened to your weekend plans?"

The nap with Greg had given her enough energy to at least try and do some reading. Isabel looked up from her Interstellar Relations book and grinned. "Hey, sorry I didn't call. Plans got changed. I had to go on a rescue instead of camping."

From:

"Oh, you're kidding me. Were you in on the thing Sam went to do? And you didn't call? Wench. Ette." Parker wandered in, hands on her hips, and half-glared at Isabel, lips twitching. "You're okay? Is Aeryn back?"

From:

"I was. Oops. Sorry. Yes and yes," she said, chuckling. "It was definitely not how I planned on spending the weekend but it needed to be done. Tell me you wouldn't have done the same."

"I wouldn't have--" Parker rolled her eyes. "Well, it was worth a shot. Did anyone else get hurt? Are there any outraged intergalactic cops after you? And next time, call! Grrr." She finally came to rest on the bed, and flipped Isabel's IR book out of the way with her fingertips.

"I didn't think so," Isabel laughed. "I did call Greg at least. So he wasn't panicking. Too much. No one is physically hurt but I think Aeryn's a little stressed. Which is completely understandable." She stopped for a moment, wondering if they Peacekeepers would come back. "As for people being after us? I don't know. I'm more worried about Vader. Sam borrowed his ship."

"So, I'm assuming it was her people who grabbed her, wanting her back?" Parker sighed. "I don't know much about them, but I really, really don't like them." She blinked, then facepalmed. "'Borrowed?' Oh. My. God."

From:

"Yup," she nodded. "They're not particularly nice. Most of the people we met in the marker were pretty scared of them." Isabel snickered, "Yeah, that pretty much was my reaction. But we brought it back! Maybe we'll be lucky and he'll never notice it was gone."

"Did you guys get away clean, or are they going to come back here, do you think?" Parker rolled her eyes. "I hope like hell you guys get that lucky, but I seriously doubt it'll happen. Which means you've probably got Detention during Parents' Weekend, you realize."

"Honestly? I don't know," Isabel said seriously. "They knew Aeryn was here. I'm sure they'll realize she's come back. I have to talk to her about it." She shrugged. "If I do? It was worth it."

"Who else went with you and Sam? John, I assume. Did Peter? Zero was stomping around about the voicemail he left her yesterday. Your good buddy might find his girlfriend is a wee bit pissed off." Parker sighed. "Yeah, I can see how it would be. I'm just wondering how creative Vader's going to get on you." She shook her head. "Was it fun? Aside from dangerous and all?"
