Room 406, Sunday morning

Isabel sat on her bed writing an email to her parents explaining why she wasn't going home for the holidays. Doing it by email felt like cheating, but at least her mom wouldn't be able to make her feel guilty like she would have if they talked on the phone.

As she typed, she sipped at a peppermint mocha. There's a second mocha and a box of assorted pastries from J,GoB sitting on the desk, (next to a print out of a newspaper article she's trying not to think about) all part of the lure she'd mentioned when she left a message last night.

Occasionally Isabel would glance at the open doorway expectantly.

[The mocha is for chasingsnitches but anyone else is welcome to stop by for a doughnut. Occasional SP due to RL.]

Before receiving Conner's phone call, Peter was wandering through the halls when he saw Isabel's door open. So he stopped outside to look in. "Morning, Isabel."

"Hi Peter! Doughnut?" she asked, pointing towards the box.

"Ooh, yes, please," Peter replied with a grin. He came in and took a chocolate covered one. "I'm sorry I missed IR last week. I hope your absent Prime Minister wasn't a horrifying loss."

"It was a pretty easy class. She let us out early," Isabel said. "So fortunately I didn't have to make any major policy decisions."

Peter chuckled. "I'm glad for that. Are you ready for your exams?"

"Mostly," she shrugged. "I need to do a little more studying for War Theory but other then that I think I'll do okay."

"Me as well. And possibly Hunting. You'd think knowing Latin would help, but I just end up more confused." He shrugged and leaned against the door. "I was thinking - as Student Council. Should we do something for everyone during Exam week? To help keep them from going insane?"

"Personally I think we're a little late for half the student body," Isabel grinned. "But that is a good idea. Last Spring we had a coffee cart in one o the common rooms each night during exam week."

"Only half?" Peter asked, chuckling. "I'd say three-quarters at least. We could do that again perhaps? Or in the morning to help them wake up?"

"I think we could," she nodded. "I'm pretty sure we can just charge it to the StuCo account at J,GoB. But maybe we should do it in the evenings when people are studying instead? I wouldn't want to be responsible anyone being late for their exams."

Peter laughed. "Point and an excellent one. Shall we start tomorrow night? I could pick up J,GoB food after class and set it out."

"That would be great. And it's even better that you can cover it," Isabel said, glancing towards her desk. "I've got some plans for tomorrow night that can't be changed."

Seeing the glance, Peter asked. "Good things, I hope? Or is there anything I can offer help with?"

"Hopefully a good thing. I think we've got it under control," she said. "But if that changes, you'll be one of the first people I call."

"Thanks. Really," Isabel smiled. "So what are your plans once you survive finals? Will you be sticking around for the holidays or heading home to the castle?"

"I have no idea," Peter replied laughing, going to scrub his hand through his hair and realising he held the doughnut at the last moment. Instead he took a bite. "I've not heard anything. And I'd rather not Willow worry about it again. So hopefully here, I suppose."

"Careful there. You might give Greg ideas about using doughnut frosting as a hair gel," she laughed. "I'll be sticking around as well although Greg's heading home."

Peter grinned. "I don't think anything I could do with my hair would match his artistry. Perhaps we all can have Christmas dinner together then."

"It is artistry isn't it?," Isabel grinned. "Dinner would be very, very nice. Plus we can do presents!"

"Definitely presents." Peter agreed with a grin. "Willow liked her Chanukkah gift. So I'm confident on the rest."

"Willow, Chanukkah, gift! Gah!" Yes, that was Isabel flailing.

"I wouldn't worry about it!" Peter said, sorry for the flailing. "I'm sorry. I don't think it matter?"

"Oh no, I have one," Isabel explained. "I just have to track her down to get it to her."

"At least the holiday is eight days long?" Peter offered with a grin.
