Room 406, afternoon

Isabel had reached the point where studying just wasn't happenening any longer. A quick phone call had Parker appearing, loaded down with gifts.

The door was open, the carols were playing, Annie was wearing a wee Santa hat and Parker and Isabel were laughing like demented elves as they ate chocolate and drank eggnog while waiting for people to come by so they could hand out holiday presents.


[Assume handwavey phone calls telling their friends to stop by!]

"Yes it is," she says. "What's a 'swell foop'?"

Parker grinned and pulled out an envelope and a box. "A silly way of saying 'all at once' - fell swoop, rearranged. Here, and oh!" She grabbed a little box and said, "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."

She takes the envelope and boxes, starting with the first. "It's a panda bear," she says, and she's always a little proud when she recognizes an animal.

"Yup. I thought you might like a polar bear, but that's what comes with your zoo membership. A panda." Parker tilted her head. "They're cute and huge and fairly harmless, as bears go. But still, I thought you'd like to get into the zoo for free any time you wanted, as well as some other benefits."

Yeah, Aeryn might have developed a little animal thing, so she's good with that. She moves on to the second box, and says, "That's very pretty."

"I thought so? Plus it looks kind of warrior-esque, like a bracer, more than a bracelet. Not at all like a Witchblade, no. It's thin enough that it shouldn't get in the way if you have to punch anyone," Parker added, because she's had jewelry considerations in fights herself.

Aeryn smiles. "Very good consideration. Thank you, Parker."

"You're welcome." Parker bit into a candy cane, then asked, "Are you and John going anywhere for Christmas? Am I likely to see you in L.A. at Angel's?"

She nods. "I'm not sure when or how long yet, but we'll be there for a while. When are you going?"

"A couple days after Christmas, I think. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm spending the holiday with my father in Athens. It'll depend on how annoying his minions get." Parker made a face. "But definitely long enough to have fun. And see how Cal is, especially."

"I'd like to see her myself," she nods. "Plus it should be interesting to see whether Sean could knock a person down just saying hello yet."

Parker snickered. "Yeah, Labs get so big-- he was getting huge in October, he's probably full-grown now." She shook her head. "I can't believe it's been a year."
