Isabel's Room - 406, Hyperion Hotel, Wednesday morning

Despite being up late, Isabel was still up early. After getting dressed, she booted up her laptop and grumbled when there was only the faintest of WiFi signals available, apparently from the building next store. The signal did get stronger the closer she got to the window. Which explains why Isabel is currently perched on the window sill, looking up things to do in LA.

Just like in Fandom, the door to her room was open.

"Oh, definitely not teasing," he said. "The paintings talk. A select few also guard the house common rooms and only allow entrance upon hearing the correct password."

"That sounds utterly amazing. You're not going to be disappointed when we go to the Getty if nothing talks back to you?" she asked. "Do you find it boring here? No ghosts, no talking talking paintings, no magic except what you make yourself?"

"No," he said quickly, remembering his recent experiences home. "No, I love it here for different reasons."

"The baked goods, right?" she teased.

"Amongst other things," he said, smiling again. "But yes, they are quite the reason for enjoyment."

"Then I'm just going to have to keep using them as bait in the traps I set to lure you down the hall," Isabel said, glad to see the smile.

"You really think you need to lure me down to your room?" Cedric asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Okay, maybe not lure," she laughed. "How about they're for rewarding you for making that long and difficult journey down the hall?"

"Yes, those few feet are oh so difficult," he said, laughing a little. "The sweets do wonders to keep me energized."

"Because," Isabel started to say, then stopped, shaking her head. "Oh no, nevermind. I'm not going there. So when do you want to leave for the museum?" Yes, that was a 180 degree subject change. Smooth wasn't it?

"Were you going to make a dirty comment?" Cedric asked coyly. "And we can leave whenever. I'm not doing anything."

"Who me?" she asked, trying hard to look innocent and angelic. "In that case let me get my sneakers on and let's go. There's artwork waiting for us."

Cedric nodded and waited near the door. "Should I bring my wand?"

It hit him in the head, messing his hair and sending him into a fit of laughter.

Shoes on, Isabel headed out the door, ruffling his hair even more as she passed by. "You are too much. I think we need to visit the tar pits. Just so I can toss you in!"

"And I'll just use my wand to bring you in with me," he said, leaving his hair mussed.

Isabel facepalmed. "You're going to be doing this all day aren't you?"

He grinned and merely said, "I have a new sword too."

"Sword?" she squeaked. "Dirty?"

He laughed at the squeak and said, "Not dirty. It was a Christmas gift from Jack."

"Sure, not dirty," Isabel laughed, amused.

"No, really," he said. "It was a real sword. It used to belong to Jack and he gave it to me."

She stopped and studied him for a long moment. "Okay, I can actually see that working for you. Jack and Parker? They're both gun people. Greg? He's a mad scientist type, cackling over his bubbling chemicals. But, a sword seems right for you."

"Thank you," Cedric said. "It does look good on me, I must admit."
