Disneyland, all day

Isabel had tried to be mature and blase about going to Disney. But by the time they'd gotten their tickets, gotten into the park and were standing on Main Street, she was pretty much bouncing with excitement. "Okay, where do you want to go first?"

"I will kill you," she says immediately, and one of the parents up ahead turns their little boy away, just in case.

Aeryn's very happy when they get close enough that she can try to look inside and see what's so horrible. She frowns and says, "They need to change the radio station."

John grins and says, "Maybe they will when we get on."

They're let in, and Aeryn stops when she sees what the ride is. "Boats?"

"Get in the boat, my darling," he says, just because he can. He climbs in and steadies the boat for her.

"I haven't been here in awhile," John says, bouncing around in the boat a bit. "So, maybe."

When the ride really starts going- at its whopping point five miles per hour- Aeryn says, "They're singing."

John makes himself comfortable in the boat and watches Aeryn's reactions. "They are."

"Those things are not human," she says, pointing at one creepy-looking animatronic child. "They aren't even alien. And I'd hardly believe I would be the first person to tell them to shut up."

And thanks to those damn translator microbes, as they pass into the next country, she's not even hearing different languages. "Is it just the same thing over and over?"
