Room 406, early evening

After a night spent fighting Samuri Fishmen, and a busy day of classes, StuCo, visiting, and an assembly. Isabel was glad to get back to her room. Apologizing profusely, she locked Annie the cat in the bathroom, then set Jack the mouse down on her bed.

"There. Roam! Be free!" she laughed.

The door was open.

Jack flicked his ears and sniffed the air - he did not like cats in this shape - then bounced forward, exploring the bed, crawling under the pillows and back out, before bouncing back over to Isabel.

Something about being a mouse made him want to bounce.

Isabel was highly amused by all this. "If I didn't know better I'd swear you were Blair with all that bouncing."

"Awww...sorry," she giggled. "Well I hope you had a relatively fun day hanging out on my shoulder."

She didn't sound sorry, but he ws having too much fun as a mouse to care.

Jack had discovered that along with bouncing, mice were also very good at climbing, and he scampered nimbly up her ankle and poked his nose into her pant leg.

His whiskers probably tickled.

"Hey! Watch it bub! Do you want me to get you a habitrail?" Isabel asked, scooping him up. "Or one of those roll around balls? Did you ever see what happens when you spin them?"

Jack half closed his eyes and twitched his whiskers, the closest he could get to grinning, grabbed her finger with his paws, and started grooming it.

"Oh yeah, nice," she chuckled. "Suck-up. You're lucky you're cute."

After getting a rather odd phone call, Cedric came one floor down and knocked on the door.

Isabel looked up and waved as Jack ran down her sleeve. "Hi! Come on in!"

He stepped inside and said, "Your message was rather odd. Is everything all right?"

"Oh it's fine," she snickered. "I take it you haven't talked to Sam? Because ummm...Jack's having a bit of an issue at the moment."

Jack ran right down to the end of Isabel's arm, and stretched out towards Cedric, waving his paws in the air.

There were even some undignified squeaks of excitement, which Jack would be mortified about when he was human again, but for the moment he was just happy to see Cedric.

"Do you have a new pet?" Cedric asked.

"No. You have a small furry thingie for the time being," Isabel laughed. "That's Jack."

Jack was still stretching out towards Cedric, but he spared a moment to twist his head around and wrinkle his nose at Isabel. //You're enjoying this way too much.//

"That's Jack!" Cedric looked down, flabbergasted. "Are you sure?"

Parker wandered by after her phone call to Angel and Logan, and knocked on Isabel's door, then peered in. "Hey. What are you up to?"

"Apologizing to the cat for locking her in the bathroom," Isabel chuckled, scratching Annie's ears. "She was a bit put out to find herself temporarily replaced in my affections by a mouse."

"A mouse?" Parker questioned, slightly confused. "Okay, what's Greg gone and done now?"

"Not Greg," she snickered. "The other boy wonder."

"Who-- Oh, Jack." Parker facepalmed. "That goofus. Was he in a closet with Cedric or Sam somewhere?"

"Sam said he ate something, but she's not sure what." Isabel flipped open her phone and showed Parker one of the pictures she'd snapped of Jack during the day. "He spent most of the day riding on my shoulder. Cedric just picked him up a little while ago."

"That is almost disturbingly adorable," Parker said, looking at the photo and shaking her head. "Hopefully it'll wear off like being a fox did. And at least he can't butt anyone into mud puddles." She looked meditative. "I still have to ge Alec back for that."

"That was amusing," she grinned. "I'm glad I stuck to swings with D'Anna. So besides unexpected mud baths, what else have you been up to? Have you talked to Jarod since he was wee?"
