Room 406, early evening

After a night spent fighting Samuri Fishmen, and a busy day of classes, StuCo, visiting, and an assembly. Isabel was glad to get back to her room. Apologizing profusely, she locked Annie the cat in the bathroom, then set Jack the mouse down on her bed.

"There. Roam! Be free!" she laughed.

The door was open.

He stepped inside and said, "Your message was rather odd. Is everything all right?"

"Oh it's fine," she snickered. "I take it you haven't talked to Sam? Because ummm...Jack's having a bit of an issue at the moment."

Jack ran right down to the end of Isabel's arm, and stretched out towards Cedric, waving his paws in the air.

There were even some undignified squeaks of excitement, which Jack would be mortified about when he was human again, but for the moment he was just happy to see Cedric.

"Do you have a new pet?" Cedric asked.

"No. You have a small furry thingie for the time being," Isabel laughed. "That's Jack."

Jack was still stretching out towards Cedric, but he spared a moment to twist his head around and wrinkle his nose at Isabel. //You're enjoying this way too much.//

"That's Jack!" Cedric looked down, flabbergasted. "Are you sure?"

"Yup," she nodded. "Sam found him last night. She gave him to me this morning so I could take him to class but I don't want to keep him here overnight because of Annie. So do you want to take him or should I bring him back to Sam?"

"No, no, I'll take him," Cedric said, reaching for him. "I'm just...how does he keep doing this?"

Jack quickly crawled into Cedric's palm, bracing his feet on his thumb and stretching up towards him. //I think the cheese went bad.//

Cedric brought Jack up to his eye level and peered at him. "I do hope you're all right in there."

Jack crept forward until he could touch his nose to Cedric's. //I'm fine. I'm just disturbingly bouncy.//

"He's been fine," Isabel assured him. "We went to class, the StuCo meeting, visited Anders and hit the assembly. He likes to hang out on your shoulder and watcht he world go by. Also? He bounces a lot."

"I've never cared for a mouse," Cedric said, smiling at Jack. "Do I do anything specific?"

"Don't squish him seems to be the big thing," she said solemnly. "And Sam says that waving his right paw means yes, and his left paw means no. But he's pretty much still Jack. So I don't think you'll have a problem."

"Food?"

"I've given him some cheese. River gave him a bite of cookie. And I think fruits and veggies would be good as well." Isabel grinned, "You'll do fine. And I'm here if you have any problems."

Jack curled up in Cedric's palm, making himself very comfortable, and flicked his ears back and forth. //Anything's good. Just not Puff's food.//

"And not Puff's food," Cedric said completely randomly. "Because he's not a fish."

"No, thank god," Isabel shuddered. "I had enough of that last night."

Cedric nodded and looked back at Jack. "Ready to come with me?"

Jack nodded and twitched his whiskers.

"Have fun. And don't squish him!" she grinned. "I have to let Annie out of the bathroom and apologize to her now."

Cedric made sure Jack was secure in the palm of his hand and said, "Thank you, Isabel. Have a good night!"

"Night!" Isabel called after him. She waited till he was through the door and the cat barrier before opening the bathroom door and scooping Annie up apologizing profusely.
