After the Perk, Isabel returned to her room, made a few handwavey phone calls and then tried to pack. If you can call randomly taking things in and out of drawers packing. Annie sat on the bed watching her, seeming to sense something was going on.

The door was cracked open.

"Max and Michael will look out for me," she promised. "Max can be a putz, and Michael a stubborn idiot. We might bicker and fight, but in the end, we look out for each other."

Sam smiled and thought of Jack and Daniel. Then she thanked god for Teal'c. "I know how that goes."

"I'm sure you do," Isabel nodded. "Well we'll go and maybe someday, if, when you're traveling through the galaxy as a Time Agent, you can stop by for the Anatarian equivalent of a beer."

"I'd like that, very much," Sam answered, wondering exactly this had become normal. "And don't forget the way home."

"I won't. I want to come back," she admitted. "This is home."

"You better believe it," Sam hugged her quickly again. "And, if I'm not here when you get back, I expect at least a phone call, got it?"

"Somehow I think Parker will know how to get in touch with every member of the graduating class," Isabel smiled. "So yeah, you'll definitely get a call."

She paused, looking down at nothing really. "Jack was pretty upset when he left last night. I don't know if he's going to come back before I leave. If he doesn't? Can you just tell him...just tell him I said thank you?"

"He was," Sam admitted, "and I will."

"Thanks Sam. I appreciate it. I appreciate everything."

"I wish I could give you weapons," Sam frowned and ran a hand through her hair, "but I can't."

"It's okay. Really," Isabel assured her. "I think we're covered. Hopefully."

She thought they were covered? What kind of...Sam didn't yell, since she knew that wouldn't help Isabel and wouldn't make her feel better. "I should go."

Isabel nodded. "Good-bye Sam."

Sam hugged her one more time. "Goodbye, Isabel. Please take care."

If this is any sign of what the rest of the day will be like, Isabel is going to be a wreck. "I will," she said returning the hug.

Sam straightened her shoulders and wiped her eyes as she stepped away from Isabel. "Okay. Safe journey." She left.
