Room 406, evening

Isabel sat on her bed reviewing the to-do list for prom as she went through emails from various vendors.

Despite an occasional sneeze and sniffle, it had been a fairly productive day, coffee with Parker, goofing with Jack in class, and then meeting with Anakin.

Opening another email, she smiled, relieved to see the backdrops had been shipped.

The door was open.

"I don't know. Ministry makes me thing of beauracrats," she grinned. "And beauracrats automatically mean complexity, even on something as simple as ordering office supplies. Or in a wizarding world would that mean extra eye of newt?"

"The ministry isn't that bad," Cedric said. "They're just...stuffy. They do have the best interest of everyone in mind. I'm not actually sure about the complexity. I don't know the inner workings of the Ministry of Magic."

"Stuffy Englishmen? No way!" Isabel teased. "And if you don't know? I think you need to research it for me. And possibly write a paper."

"Are you giving me an assignment?" he asked, sounding mock offended.

"Possibly? Although if you don't do it what can I actually do to you?" she said, grinning. "Give you detention?"

"You could turn my hair neon green," he pointed out.

"I'd never!" Isabel said, shocked.

Okay, she didn't believe it either.

"That was an incredibly bad lie," Cedric said, laughing.

"And you can do better?" she asked, unwrapping an egg of her own.

"No, but I admit that my attempts at lying are horrible," he answered.

"Good. That means I can ask your opinion on clothes and get an honest answer," Isabel replied.

"Uh oh?" He tried to feign fear but he failed.

"You're safe right now," she smiled. "But I will remember that. I might wind up dragging you along if I decide to go dress shopping for prom after all."

"What if I learn to lie between now and then?"

"Then I suppose you could skip. But who would I go shopping with?" Isabel asked, with a touch of puppy eyes. "I'd have to go alone."

"It's very mean to do puppy eyes to me," he said, frowning dramatically.

"It's very mean to make me go shopping all on my own." As if there wasn't half a dozen girls at the school who would happily go with her.

"You're very brave to want to take someone who has no sense of fashion," he returned.

"What can I say? I'm a rebel and like to live dangerously," she laughed. "Have you checked up on Jack today?"

"I haven't," he said. "Is something wrong?"

"No," Isabel said quickly. "He's doing better. He even managed to make it to class this morning."

"Oh," Cedric said, smiling. "Oh, good then. He was pretty sick when I did see him so I'm glad that seems to have passed."

"Tell me about it. Sick Jack was very sad and woeful. Although I have a sneaking suspicion he enjoyed us fussing over him," she said, shaking her head.

"Suspicion nothing, he told me so outright," Cedric said. "He's spoiled. He's lucky he spoils back."

Isabel laughed, "Well at least he's honest. And you're right. Which I suppose is why I agreed to cook him dinner at some point in the near future. You're more then welcome to join us. Although I should warn you, it's going to be spicy."
