Room 406, evening

A week that had included library duty, a night out at Caritas, movies with a friend, exams, and plotting a rescue mission meant that Isabel was pretty damn tired when she went to bed on Friday night. Unfortunately the conversation with Rikku brought memories and Isabel didn't actually get into a deep sleep until some time just before dawn. She slept till noon when the sound of yelling and chaos in the hallways woke her.

A quick look out her door found Isabel shutting it quickly. Beyond grateful to whatever quirk of Fandom left her still eighteen, she decided an afternoon with a good book was much better then weetiny chaos.

After a quiet afternoon, Isabel finally got out her camera and opened her door.

"Hi!" She said, smiling at the jumping. "So what have you been doing all day? Anything fun?"

"I ate waffles!" He nodded solemnly. "With chocolates!"

"Carbs and sugar, that's very good," Isabel nodded back. "Who made them for you?"

"Jaaaaaaaaaaaack," he said, getting stuck on the 'a'. "He's older than me but not by much."

Isabel blinked, because the image of Jack as a weetiny kidlet just didn't compute. "Jack? Really? Where they good waffles?"

"Yeah!" He nodded and jumped up and down a few times. "Lots of chocolate! I asked for lots of chocolate!"

"That doesn't surprise me a bit," she laughed. Then Isabel made a decision she might possibly regret. She broke out her chocolate stash. "I've got some more if you'd like some."

"You have more?" he asked, looking at the stash in wonder.

"I'll let you know a secret," Isabel said, bending down to whisper in his ear. "I've always got chocolate."

He smiled hugely. "Can I have some, please?"

She pretended to think about it for a minute. "I don't know. Should you?"

"I've been good!"

"Well in that case, I suppose you can have a piece," Isabel smiled. "Two if I can have a hug."

"Okay!" And he hugged her legs. That's about as far as he could reach.

She ruffled his hair and handed over the chocolate as promised. Sinking to the floor, she crossed her legs, pleased to mostly be at eye level with Cedric. "So Mr. Cedric who is five, what do you plan on doing for the rest of the day? Lots of exploring? Or do you still need to take naps?"

Because he knew his manners, he finished stuffing chocolate into his mouth before answering. "I dunno. Maybe go flying!"

"Flying? Up in the sky?" she asked, laughing at the chocolate stuffing. "Do you go very high?"

"Yeah!" He pointed straight up. "I could take you! I fly good! I'm a snitch...person!"

As much as Isabel would like to go flying? She's not going when Cedric is five. She can wait and not risk life or limb. "I don't think so. I'm not very brave when it comes to going up very high."

Wrinkling her nose, she wondered if some breaking and entering and grand theft broom would be needed until things were back to normal. "Have you been flying for a long time?"

"I am five," he told her in a voice that said she was dumb for asking that. "Six soon!"

Isabel snickered, already thinking about how she could tease him when this wore off. "Soon? You're going to have a birthday soon? Will you have cake?"

"Of course," he said happily. "A chocolate one!"

"There are other kinds of cake?" she asked, faking surprise. "I thought all cakes were chocolate."

"I've seen lellow cakes before," he explained.

Isabel made a face. "I bet they're yucky."
