Room 406, evening

After a rather flail worthy evening Wednesday night and then a slightly flail inducing conversation with Bel today, Isabel did a little mental math and decided it was still early enough in Moscow that Parker would likely be awake. Picking up her phone, she hit the speed dial.

The door was closed but knockable.

"Oooo! What are you bringing to the bruncheon?" Parker asked, curling up on the white leather couch in her apartment. "Share!"

"No, no! You first!" she replied, laughing. "What happened at the dacha?"

"Mmmm, a little take-out banquet from a local bistro, a little champagne, a little dancing in the moonlight--" She started to laugh. "A little of Casimir attempting to show me Russian dancing, and falling on his ass...."

"Sound like fun," Isabel grinned. "Of course what sort of Russian dancing were you doing?"

"Right then, the kind with high kicks. Eventually?" Parker hmmmmmm'd happily. "The kind where you dip, and spin, and then you don't bother standing up again. The mambo is done best on a king-size bed, by the way."

"I see," she laughed. "I'll keep that in mind should I decide to go dancing."

Parker grinned, propping her feet up on the arm of the couch. "So yes, a very good time was had by all, he left the laptop in Moscow, and I'm seeing him again this weekend. Even if this is only a three-week fling, I don't care, I'm having fun." She stretched. "Sooooo. Your turn? Steve-Peter finally make a move?"

"We're attempting New York again this weekend," Isabel said, not really answering the question. "With Dawn and Sam and two of the new guys. I think it'll be fun."

"Is-a-bel," Parker said, eyes narrowing, even though there was no one there to see it. "That's lovely. And not at all on-topic. Unless you're sharing a room with him?"

"No. We're not. I'm sharing with Dawn," she replied, sticking her tongue out at the phone even though Parker couldn't see it. "He did win me a teddy bear at the RenFest last week though."

"Okay, that's progress, at least," Parker said, tapping her feet on the couch. "And sweet. Any smoochies yet?"

"Ummm yes? Just not with him," Isabel admitted, ducking her head and waiting for Parker's reaction.

Parker boggled for a second. Then:

"Ooooooooo...."

"Shut up. I just... I don't know," she sighed. "We met up on the beach last night."

"Uh-hunh." Parker settled in, grinning at the ceiling. "Sooo, you were just walking along the beach, and you bumped into him..."

Isabel snickered, "More like I was sitting there, quietly minding my own business staring at the water when this flying and flaming person went zipping by my head. And we started to talk and then there was kissing."

"Wait wait flying flaming and you skipped a bunch there," Parker said. "Back up to the zipping by and the talking! I don't need major details, just some more continuity."

"He's pyrokinetic," she explained. "And can also fly. With his body completely covered in flames. Don't ask me how, because I haven't got a clue. But it is pretty neat to see."

Stretching out, Isabel folded a pillow under her head. "So I was sitting there, and he saw me, so he stopped flying, put out the fire and came over to talk to me."

"That's one way to pull in women, give him credit," Parker said, highly amused. "Ahhh. And I've met Johnny, so I can guess how part of this went. 'What's a beautiful girl like you doing alone on a beach?'"

"Something like that," Isabel said dryly. "I guess I should also add that I spent most of yesterday thinking about Max and Michael. And trying to figure out what I'm going to do come August. So I pretty much turned my brain off when I went to the beach."

"Ohhhh, boy. I am seeing how this developed even further now." Parker sighed, thinking about August and what would hopefully not happen then. "Sooo. Talking, and not thinking, and then...?"

"Kissing and some more kissing and then my brain decided that it felt like kicking back into gear," she sighed. Well her brain and a wandering hand. "I was tempted, god knows I was tempted."

"It's not like you and Steve-Peter have gotten very far," Parker observed. "What stopped you, exactly?"
