Room 406, evening

Isabel had taken one look at the snow that morning and decided it was a day to stay in and relax. She'd made it to her classes, been more then social and had had an entertaining day at work, followed by a handwavey evening keeping Xander company.

As far as first weeks of school went. This had been one of the better ones.

The door was open.

"It's called a photograph," she explained. "There's a device that captures the likeness. Then it gets transfered to the paper."

"You've experienced something like it?"

Cimorene ran through everything she had encountered in the past year. "I don't think so. We have painters for that sort of thing. How does it work?"

"Oh? The camera? I honestly couldn't tell you," Isabel replied. "I meant have you experienced people from other realities? Or different times?"

"I haven't." Cimorene admitted. "But it does make sense. Wouldn't it be too selfish to imagine we're the only ones and there are no other versions of us or even our worlds?"

She nodded, "Exactly. But some people have a hard time dealing with it. At least at first."

"Do you know what classes you have?"

"Basic Computing, Public Speaking, and My Country. I missed the first two this week, I hope the teachers don't mind too much." Cimorene recited the classes from memory.

"I don't know who's teaching those classes. But in general most teachers don't have a problem if you miss a class. As long as you don't make a habit of it," Isabel assured her.

"I'm not planning on it. It sounds like the classes are at least interesting. Though...I've already learned some math, from the court economist before father found out. Apparently, that wasn't appropriate either." Cimorene rolled her eyes. "What are you taking?"

"Math was inappropriate?" She had a feeling Cimorene was going to be learning lots of inappropriate behavior in Fandom.

"I've got Criminal Justice, World Mythologies, Spycraft and Lawyering Up. They'll keep me busy enough."

"For a princess, yes. That's why I ran away. My sisters liked it though." Cimorene sounded like she couldn't understand how they could be happy with that. "That sounds really interesting. Do you get to actually spy on people?"

Isabel couldn't understand it either. "Not that I'm aware of. But it's always a possibility."

"That sounds like a very interesting class." Cimorene said confidently. "So what else should I know about this school?"

Cheerfully, Isabel filled Cimorene in about the things to know in Fandom. Things like squirrels, and J,GoB and how the Perk had the best coffee. But somehow, oddly enough, she never mentioned wizards.
