Room 406, evening

To say the past few days had been busy was a bit of an understatement. But Isabel was glad that Max and her parents had made it for her graduation. Even if things did get a bit insane.

But her family was gone now, on their slightly longer trip home, and Isabel was taking the opportunity to sit and relax.

And wish like hell a new season of The Amazing Race was going to start anytime soon.

The door was open.

Peter decided to swing by Isabel's room. "Hey there, graduate."

Isabel had been attempting to watch some Greek cooking show. The food looked great, too bad she had no idea what the hell it was.

"Hey," she smiled. "I survived. Literally!"

"It was very impressive," Peter said. "I'd say I'm sorry I couldn't help but turns out you didn't need it."

"Fortunately. Who knew folding chairs could be deadly weapons?" Isabel chuckled. "My brother's brain was a bit broken. I'd told him graduation more then likely wouldn't be boring. But I didn't tell him why."

"We weirded out your brother the alien?" Peter asked. "That's kind of impressive."

"He's used to the alien weirdness," she explained. "Things like zombies, demons and fairies that attack graduation? That's still make believe to him. Despite the friends of mine he's met and the stories I've told him.

"How's he handling it now?" Peter asked.

"They're all pretty bemused at this point. Between the attack, mom talking to a giant centipede, meeting another version of the Michael they know. Greece..." Isabel rolled her eyes. "It was either just go with it or start gibbering."

"I think that's Nathan's philosophy on it too," Peter said. "Less headaches that way."

"I think a lot of people have taken that attitude. I know I have," she admitted. "It's going to be weird when I leave and don't have to worry about randomly waking up as a guy some morning."

"So you hope," Peter pointed out with a grin.

"I'd shoot myself," Isabel shuddered. "Sorry. But that really wasn't all that much fun."

Isabel stuck her tongue out at him. "It was just weird!!! You change genders for a day. You'll see!"

"I'd rather be thankful that I haven't picked up that power yet," Peter said with a grin. Though he wondered if shape-shifting counted.

"Good. I'm probably biased," she told him. "But I haven't met a shapeshifter yet that wasn't a bad guy."

"There's Teddy," Peter pointed out. "He's pretty nice."

Isabel blinked. "I...didn't know that. Huh."

"Tsk," Peter said, mock-scolding. "And you call yourself knowledgable enough to graduate."

"I'll tell you a secret," she said, lowering her voice. "I've been faking it along."

"Thank god I'm not the only one," Peter replied.

"No, but you still have some time to actually get it," Isabel pointed out. "I have to go out to that big scary world at some point soon."

"Any idea when?" Peter asked, though really he liked to be in denial about that kind of thing.

She wasn't thinking about it much either. Except when she was. Which was more and more often. "After the first session. I have to get my car back to Roswell which means 1800 miles of driving. And I do want to spend some time with my family."

"Okay, so I've got a little time before I can't see you every day," Peter said.
