Room 406, evening

To say the past few days had been busy was a bit of an understatement. But Isabel was glad that Max and her parents had made it for her graduation. Even if things did get a bit insane.

But her family was gone now, on their slightly longer trip home, and Isabel was taking the opportunity to sit and relax.

And wish like hell a new season of The Amazing Race was going to start anytime soon.

The door was open.

"I'd shoot myself," Isabel shuddered. "Sorry. But that really wasn't all that much fun."

"Thaaaaaaanks," Peter drawled, teasing.

Isabel stuck her tongue out at him. "It was just weird!!! You change genders for a day. You'll see!"

"I'd rather be thankful that I haven't picked up that power yet," Peter said with a grin. Though he wondered if shape-shifting counted.

"Good. I'm probably biased," she told him. "But I haven't met a shapeshifter yet that wasn't a bad guy."

"There's Teddy," Peter pointed out. "He's pretty nice."

Isabel blinked. "I...didn't know that. Huh."

"Tsk," Peter said, mock-scolding. "And you call yourself knowledgable enough to graduate."

"I'll tell you a secret," she said, lowering her voice. "I've been faking it along."

"Thank god I'm not the only one," Peter replied.

"No, but you still have some time to actually get it," Isabel pointed out. "I have to go out to that big scary world at some point soon."

"Any idea when?" Peter asked, though really he liked to be in denial about that kind of thing.

She wasn't thinking about it much either. Except when she was. Which was more and more often. "After the first session. I have to get my car back to Roswell which means 1800 miles of driving. And I do want to spend some time with my family."

"Okay, so I've got a little time before I can't see you every day," Peter said.

"I'll miss you to," Isabel smiled.

"So you're sticking around?

"That's the current plan," Peter said. "Might do a trip home or a long weekend. But otherwise Nathan and I will be here."

"Just so you can get nagged that you need a haircut?" she teased.

"But I understand. I mean here is Greece!! I can't wait to go exploring."

"I'll have to figure out some way of explaining this to Ma so she stops nagging me about taking time off to see Europe," Peter said.

"An extended class trip? Or some sort of exchange program?" Isabel suggested. "She doesn't need to know the island came along for the exchange."

"That's what I'm thinking," Peter said. "Field trip probably works. She can't argue that. I hope."

"Find her some nice souvenirs. Maybe that'll distract her?" Hopefully. Maybe.

"I'll bribe Nathan to help tell her how it's educational," Peter said. "She might buy that coming from him."

"I suppose heading out to the clubs one night to go dancing could count as enjoying the local culture," Isabel observed. "And we're going to have to do that. I bet it would be a blast."

"Absolutely," Peter said. "Count me in."

"Excellent," she grinned. "But in the meantime? Since my understanding of Greek is limited, I was going to put a movie in instead. Feel like watching?"
