Newtech City, Tuesday all day

When you're pregnant with a half-alien, half witch/Whitelighter baby, regular prenatal care just wasn't going to cut it. Which was why Isabel and Wyatt had been making regular trips to the more alien friendly future for the last nine months.

But now the big day was here and Miss Victoria Maureen Halliwell was ready to make her appearance.

"These things take time," said the nurse as she lead Parker back towards the happy family.

Isabel looked up and smiled. "So, ready to meet your namesake?"

"Tell me you didn't name her Maureen," Parker said, but couldn't help grinning hugely. "...unbelievable." Her voice has softened a little.

"Victoria Maureen," Isabel replied, her eyes bright. "Victoria for Grandpa Victor, and Maureen for the best friend I never thought I'd have."

"Damnit. Making me emotional," Parker complained, sitting gingerly on the edge of the bed, fingers hovering over Victoria's soft baby skull. "She's gorgeous. And I'm not just saying that as you best friend."

"Please. Deal with the raging hormones and then tell me about being emotional."

She shifted, holding the baby out to Parker. "Want to hold her?"

"Oh, I wouldn't..." Parker paused, fear of doing something to hurt Victoria accidentally warring with fascination. "Well. Over the bed, I can't hurt her. Right?" She very carefully held out her arms. "I have no idea what I'm doing."

"And you think I do?" Isabel asked once she'd past Victoria over. "I think we're going to be making it all up as we go along."

"Shouldn't Wyatt have some kind of cheat code for this?" Parker wondered. She was being ultra-careful not to squish Victoria, staring at the miniature Isabel-made person. "How are you feeling, by the way? Emotional or physical."

Victoria was taking the opportunity to do what newborns do best. Snuffle a little bit and sleep.

"I wish we had cheat codes. Considering her genetics, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before she's TKing her own bottles over to the crib," she laughed. "We're doomed."

Isabel considered Parker's second question with a soft smile. "I'm good. Tired of course, but good. Happy. This is everything I never thought I'd get to have and now I do. It's perfect."

"So it was worth it, then?" Parker asked, very very softly. She rocked Victoria, back, and forth. Back, and forth. "Everything it took to get here, I mean. Not just the labor where you were screeching."

"You mean things like magical plague, mysterious angel statues sending people into the past, creepy alien kidnapping evil doers and the wold disappearing into Nothing?" And those were only a few of the traumatic events they'd lived through since they'd met.

"Yeah, it was."

A beat.

"I never screeched. I simply vented my frustration loudly."

"I might have recorded it, at some points."

Yeah no she didn't. But you couldn't tell by that grin. "The cursing was imaginative." She looked down at Victoria. "And when you're old enough, kiddo, Aunt Parker will teach you how to call boys names in Russian, so you don't get in trouble at school."

Looking back at Isabel, Parker said simply, "Yeah. Maybe it was all worth it."

Isabel smiled, content in a way that she never would have thought possible before she'd gone to Fandom.

But of course touching moments like that could only last for so long.

"You'll erase any recordings you made. Or I'm going to have Jared get me into all your closets and the only color you'll have to wear will be a lovely shade of lime green."

Parker's eyes widened and she laughed, shifting closer to hand over Victoria. "Here. Have a baby. I'm not going to piss off the no-longer-pregnant alien mother."
