Room 406, afternoon

Isabel was amused to wake up and find everything back in color. She was less amused when she looked in the closet and realized that she never got a chance to wear the pretty Homecoming dress she'd ordered online. There was no sign of the mass of tulle she did wear to the dance. Shrugging at the wackiness that is Fandom, Isabel showered, dressed and then settled down on her bed with a book.

The door was open.

She didn't resist and let herself be pulled back. "I love you. That's all I need to know."

Greg kissed her. "I don't want you to be pressured."

"No pressure," she said between kisses. "I want this. Want you."

Some semi-rational portion of Greg's brain made him pull back just a little. "Not tonight."

The rest of him kind of wanted to throw a tantrum and beat up the semi-rational portion.

Isabel reached up to touch his cheek. "No?"

Greg shook his head, and then leaned his forehead against hers. "I want it to be perfect," he whispered.

Mentally, he was kicking himself.

"You're as big a romantic as I am aren't you?" she asked, both pleased and amused.

Greg blushed. "Maybe."

He blushed more. "I'm also pragmatic, and I'll, um, need to go shopping...before."

Isabel blushed to match him. "Oh god yes. I've been through that trauma once. I'd prefer not to repeat it."

Greg raised an eyebrow. "You...buh?"

"No! No! No!! Not me," she said quickly. "It was Max and Tess. And it was not a fun time."

Greg winced. "Oh, ack. But, um, yes. Then you know why...not tonight."

He laughed. "I can't believe I'm saying that. I fail at being a teenage boy."

"You're right," Isabel agreed, smiling. "I'm glad that you said it though, I hadn't really thought much past talking to you about it."

"I'm glad you did," he said, kissing her forehead. "I mean, I'm glad we're talking."

"Talking is good," she agreed. "Although I'm mildly surprised that I haven't died of flailing."

"Well, if you flailed, you would hit me," he pointed out.

"And I wouldn't want to do that. I might have hurt you," Isabel smiled. "Although I guess I could always kiss it and make it better."

Greg sighed. "That's true. And that would really make it okay. But you shouldn't flail, anyway."

"I'm not now. It's just that I've been thinking about this for a while and there was never a good time to talk, and that was just making me more nervous." Oh look, she's babbling again.

"You should've said something before," Greg said, ignoring the Teen Boy Alarms going off and screaming, "OMG SEX COULD HAVE BEEN SOONER OMG!!!" in his head.

Isabel shrugged, "It hasn't been that long. And like I said, there hasn't been a good time. Would you really have wanted to have this conversation in Caritas?"

Greg turned very, very red. "Um, no, that would've been bad."

"Exactly," she grinned, leaning in to kiss him.

"I would've knocked things over," he mumbled between kisses.

"And that would have been a waste of good alcohol," Isabel said, pulling back and smiling at him. "We're still going camping this weekend? You mentioned something about snuggling to keep warm?"
