Disneyland, all day

Isabel had tried to be mature and blase about going to Disney. But by the time they'd gotten their tickets, gotten into the park and were standing on Main Street, she was pretty much bouncing with excitement. "Okay, where do you want to go first?"

[Anyone in LA can hop in. Just assume a handwavey invite. Please wait for the OCD is up! But I'm still insane]

"Would you like me to protect you from the haunted stuff?" Cedric teased.

"Yes," Isabel nodded solemnly. "With your magic wand. And your sword also." Her solemn face lasted about three seconds, then she snickered.

"You have my word that my wand and sword will be yours in your defense," he said proudly.

"Thank you," she said sincerely. "Because I know you mean that." The creepy attendent urged them forward and Isabel was grateful, she really didn't intend to get too sappy in the middle of a theme park. They walked into the first room and she stopped in the center of the room. "You'll get the best view here."

"View of what?" Cedric asked, looking around.

The doors slammed shut, a deep voice boomed out the story of the haunted mansion, and then the room went dark as lightening crashed and thunder roared. "That."

"Wow," Cedric said, jumping a bit. "Thunder inside?"

"Those special effects I told you about," Isabel said over the din. The lights came back up as the voice continued to boom and room seemed to grow larger. The pictures on the wall stretched out and changed from portraits to something much creepier. "These still probably aren't as neat as pictures where you're from."

"Still," Cedric said, looking at the pictures, "that's pretty interesting."

"And it's only going to get more interesting," she said, moving along with the crowd as they funneled into the next room, onto the moving walkway and into the ride cars. "Now we have to go for a ride."

"A ride?" He might balk at the idea of rides after Space Mountain. "I don't have a seat belt!"

"Don't worry, you'll be safe and secure," Isabel promised as climbed into their car. "Trust me?" Yes, those were puppy eyes.

"That's mean," Cedric said but climbed in after Isabel. Like he could resist.

Isabel was back to bouncing happily. "All's fair! Now watch!" As the car moved out of the boarding room, the front of it flipped back, dropping a lap bar over their laps to secure them in the car. "Feel safe now?"

"As long as I don't fall out, I feel safe," he answered.

"Then you're safe," she said. "This is as fast as this ride goes. And the only thing bouncing will be me. Look! Ghosts!" The first ghosts of the ride where floating about the library.

Cedric was reminded of home for a brief moment while watching the ghosts fly about. "You like ghosts?"

"These ghosts yes," Isabel nodded, leaning up so she can peer over the railing. "I haven't met any other kind." Unless you count the visit from Alex when Lonnie was messing with her head, but Isabel stamped that thought down and smiled again. "Ghosts aren't exactly common place around here."

"I suppose not," Cedric said, eyes fixed on the ghosts dancing around the room. "The ghosts I'm used to generally talk, most of the time very sarcastically."

"Snarky ghosts? Now that I have to see at some point," she laughed. They rounded the bend and voice from the speaker warned of hitchikers. Isabel poked Cedric pushed Cedric playfully. "Move over and make room."

He poked back before scooting over. "That enough for you, oh mighty one?"

Isabel eeped, cause she's ticklish like that. "You tell me." The car rounded a bend to face a bank of mirrors reflecting the two of them as well as three green ghosts in the car with them as well.

"Who needs to save who?" she asked, batting at the space where the ghost sat and laughing at her reflection.

"Just a trick," he said, sounding relieved. "I wasn't scared!"
