Room 406, morning

Isabel still felt a bit guilty about leaving Annie behind while she was in LA so she decided to spend the morning making it up to her. Mostly that meant using her powers to send a small toy mouse zooming around the room for the cat to stalk.

The door was open so she could meet some of the new or even not so new people if any happened to wander by.

"I don't know if I've met an Annie yet," Peter said. "Is she nice?"

Hearing her name, a small black cat walked regally towards the doorway and stopped just inside the room. "That's Annie," she grinned. "She nice but a bit of a tramp when it comes to finding new people to scratch her."

"Aw. Hey, Annie." Peter knelt down and held his hand out for Annie to sniff. "You're not that cat that talks on the radio, are you?"

Annie sniffed. And nudged as if to say, Yo! Ears!.

Isabel laughed, "No that would be Faithful. And the trick there is to bribe him with shrimp. It keeps him from snarking on you too much. Annie is just a wee kitty that decided she was going home with me one day when I went to the pet store."

Peter scratched around Annie's ears. "Cats can do that I hear. So if I bribe Faithful think I could make it to Moron #1?"

"Surprising that. I went with a friend to help him buy a fish. The next thing you know, I'm buying a litter boxes. It's kitty mind control I tell you." Isabel pondered the list of Peters as she studied this particular one. "I think it depends on how you earn your spot. If you go by length of time, you've got a while to wait. If it goes by moronic activity? You're going to have to do a lot to top #1."

Peter laughed. "So who's the worst of my name twins?"

"The Peter on this floor. You'll know him because he occasionally walks around in a too small towel. It's not pretty. At all. There was also a radio report about him, a tube of astroglide, and a slip and slid," Isabel shuddered.

[ironically? Now I'm heading out for about 90 minutes. See you in a bit.]

"Okay, yeah, the bar there's pretty high," Peter agreed with a laugh. "Don't know if I could top the slip and slide incident."

"With the right towel? I think you'd be a major, major improvement," she said. And then facepalmed. "And that was really in my head. I didn't just say that. Honestly."

Peter grinned at the compliment. "Is this when I get hit with glitter? Seely warned me about that."

"Umm? Possibly? Although I'm pretty sure I'm out at the moment," Isabel laughed, her cheeks just a bit pink. "What else did Seely warn you about? I'm almost afraid to ask."

"The dangers of wearing leather skirts in a common room," Peter said. "Though that may have been more of an object lesson."

"Seely in a skirt? In the common room? After Tuesday night's radio?" she shook her head, just imagining the insanity. "It's a picture. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad one. But it is a picture."

"That's what I thought," Peter agreed. "Not that I've ever seen the guy with his shirt on, but either way it was an introduction."

"One of many unique ones I'm sure you're going to get here. This place kind of specializes in the bizarre and outrageous. For example, in my time here, I've battled mummies, jello dragons, trolls, and a few demons," Isabel said, ticking them off on her fingers. "I've been attacked by my books, hugged by weetiny bunnies, and was somehow magically transformed back to age six."

"Gotta hand it to you, you've got some new ones in there," Peter said. "Nobody warned me about dragons or bunnies. So what's your deal? Don't tell me you're one of those demons I've heard about."

"The dragons were actually one of the more fun invasions. Even if we were sticky as hell when it was all over." She grinned, "My deal? Why do you think I have a deal?" as the toy mouse bounced across the floor without anyone touching it.

"Seems like everyone here does," Peter replied. He noticed the mouse but didn't say anything yet. It could've been battery operated, right?

"There are so many stories in this place that the we could keep the supermarket tabloids in business for years," Isabel said. "My story? Well, I'm from Roswell."

Annie tried to pounce on the mouse and missed. The mouse flew into the air and attempted to poke Peter's nose.

Peter took a step back and rubbed his nose, laughing. "Okay. So - uh - that's not on a string?"

Isabel held up her and and the mouse flew into it. "Nope. That was all me."

Peter's eyes went wide. "Wow. So you can do magic?"

"I can do stuff. But it's not because I'm magical. Although several of my friends are. Remember where I told you I was from?" she prompted.

"Roswell..." Peter said. "You're an alien??"
