I Just Want To Be Normal

Jo was exploring the rest of the floor when she noticed the open door. "Hey."

"Hi!" Isabel said, sending the mouse flying towards the door. Annie chased after it and pounced. "New person right? Or did you just hide really well for the last few months?"

"New," Jo grinned at she watched Annie. "Jo Harvelle."

From:

"Isabel Evans," she replied. "Nice to meet you. You can come in if you'd like. Annie's friendly."

"Same to you," Jo said as she came in. "She yours, or your roomies?"

From:

"She's mine. Xander, who's room it was initially, graduated last May and somehow I've been able to avoid another roommate," Isabel explained. "It's actually kind of nice to have the space and the privacy when I want it. How's your roomie?"

From:

"Henry?" Jo smiled. "He seems nice so far. Mom's gonna freak when she finds out though."

From:

She laughed, "Yup, that's why whenever I talked about Xander, I always called him my roommate. My dad would have gone nuts. But honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better roommate. I was really unhappy when he had to move out."

Jo chuckled. "I think I'll have to try that," she said. "Of course, Mom has this way of knowing when I'm hiding stuff, so I don't know how well it'll work."

Isabel shrugged, "I've been hiding stuff from my parents for most of my life. That my roommate was a guy? Is actually pretty minor."

"Considering I'm here because she caught me one too many times? You must be better at it than I am."

From:

"Considering it was kind of life or death? We had to be good." A wave of her hand and the mouse went flying again. "My brother and I aren't exactly from around here. And at least back home, the less people that know, the better."

Jo watched the mouse go flying and resisted the urge to say Christo. For now. "Any particular reason it was life and death?"

"Well, we'd like to avoid being dead on a slab or locked up as someone's lab rat," Isabel explained, her face growing dark as she remembered the White Room. "I'm from Roswell. It really wasn't a weather balloon."

"So you're an alien? A real one?"

Liz was currently walking through the dorms and getting used to the place, when she came by room 406 she noticed that it was open and debated whether or not to stop by and meet new people, finally she decided to stop by for a few minutes, "hi," she said shyly as she stood in the doorway.

"Alien human hybrid actually," she said with a small laugh. "I'm basically human. Just with a few extras. Moving stuff like the mouse, that's one of them."

"Hi," Isabel waved. "I'm Isabel. I don't bite and Annie here only attacks if you have catnip."

"I'm Liz," Liz smiled, and feeling slightly more confident she entered the room.

"Aliens can do that?"

From:

"My particular kind can," Isabel shrugged. "My brother's also met shapeshifters, and we've been warned about another kind called skins. But we don't really know what they are. I'm finding out the universe is a pretty big place."

"Nice to meet you," she smiled. "How are you settling in?" Annie walked over to stalk the new shoes in the room.

"Likewise," Liz nodded, "so far it's been okay, Fandom's different to any other school that I've been to,"

She couldn't help herself, she laughed. "Ya think? What gave it away? The squirrel at check-in? Or the random warnings I'm sure people have been giving you?"
