Room 406, morning

Isabel still felt a bit guilty about leaving Annie behind while she was in LA so she decided to spend the morning making it up to her. Mostly that meant using her powers to send a small toy mouse zooming around the room for the cat to stalk.

The door was open so she could meet some of the new or even not so new people if any happened to wander by.

"Alien human hybrid actually," she said with a small laugh. "I'm basically human. Just with a few extras. Moving stuff like the mouse, that's one of them."

"Aliens can do that?"

"My particular kind can," Isabel shrugged. "My brother's also met shapeshifters, and we've been warned about another kind called skins. But we don't really know what they are. I'm finding out the universe is a pretty big place."

"I know the feeling."

"You'll get used to it soon enough," she promised. "Even with my own peculiar background, it still made my head spin when I first got here." Tired of stalking, Annie curled up in Isabel's lap and purred. "So where are you from? And what's unique about it? Any vampires, demons, giant robots? Or just plain old suburbia, which is it's own kind of scary I suppose."

Rather than launch into a detailed explanation Jo asked "You know the Winchesters?"

Isabel nodded. "I do. Plus my roommate was from a town called Sunnydale that was built over a Hellmouth. So yeah, I've heard all the vampire, demon and assorted ghost stories. I'm actually taking Mr. Winchester's class this semester."

"Hellmouth?" Jo repeated to herself, before saying. "Unc- Professor Winchester used to know my daddy."

"Hellmouth," she repeated. "Big, scary, and apparently the demon equivalent of Disney. So you've known Dean and Sam for awhile?"

"This is actually the first time I've met them," Jo admitted. "But Uncle John used to talk about them when he came by."

"I haven't actually met Mr. Winchester," Isabel said. "But Sam's dating a good friend of mine, and Dean...well, I just appreciate the pretty there. Double the pleasure if Alec is in the room. But Uncle John? It sounds like you know him well."

"Used to," Jo said. "He hasn't really been around since my daddy..."

Isabel's had conversations trail off like that when she talked about Alex. "I'm sorry."
