Room 406, evening

After a quick trip down the hall and a weekend of being entirely too damn social, Isabel is ready for a quiet night in with a good book.

The radio's playing, Annie's curled up on her feet and the door is open.

Isabel nodded, respecting Parker's desire to keep confidences. "I won't." But mentally she was trying to put the pieces together. If it involved Chris and Wyatt that meant somehow Phoebe would be affected. Bel wouldn't be that stupid would he? To do anything to screw up his relationship with Phoebe? She shook her head, deciding to worry about it later.

"Okay then, happier thoughts. I attacked Cedric with marshmallows earlier."

Parker nearly choked on a Kiss, and then started laughing. "How'd he take it? Is he getting better, do you think?"

"He was a little confused at first. Then he was amused," Isabel laughed before sobering a little. "I think so. His trip home was bad. And he just needs some time to deal with it. But I like to think that if I can make him laugh, I'm helping."

"That much I got. I don't expect to get more details, really. What I heard was bad enough." Parker sighed. "But if I can do anything, let me know."

"I turned up on his doorstep with dinner and a movie after we talked last week," she said. "It took a while to get him to talk. He's got that whole British reserve thing going. But if you want to do something? Well I think he needs to know he has friends here. That's the big thing."

"Of course." Parker took another chocolate, and sighed. "If I think of something to distract him, I'll definitely try to get him interested." She tapped Isabel's leg. "How are things with you? Greg? Max? Life, the universe, everything?"

"Surprisingly life is good at the moment," she smiled. "I really can't complain. Greg is Greg, and Max is quiet. Classes look interesting. What more can I ask for?"

"A pony?"

"Oh yes!" Isabel grinned. "And I'll call him Peaches. And we'll ride all through town!"

Parker chortled. "Awwww. A palomino! And you can braid his hair!" She kept giggling for a while, then said, "Well, whatever you want. Put it on your birthday list, and maybe you'll get sugar cubes and ribbons and someone new to play with."

"I'll do just that," she said, amused. "But don't go overboard. A stuffed one would work just as well."
