Room 406, afternoon through early evening

After returning from waking up with Cedric, Isabel made a few phone calls, then spent a few minutes fixing what she could of her door.

That done, she curled up on her bed and tried not to shudder as she remembered the weekend. Bel and Dawn, the offer of a threesome. Anders. The creature on the roof. Zero and her camera, a memory which prompted another phone call. Caritas with Greg. And Cedric. Going back to Cedric's room.

Isabel whimpered.

The door was as closed as a door minus a doorknob could be.

After class, Jack had made a handwavy trip to All and Sundries, then dropped in at the garage to borrow some of Sam's tools (he was pretty sure she wouldn't mind).

He was now standing outside Isabel's door, eyeing the space where the doorknob used to be. After a bit, he tapped on the door.

"I'm not here."

"You are, you know." He crouched down to peer through the hole in the door. "I can see you."

And that would be Isabel flailing. A lot.

"Pretend I'm not. Go away."

"Mmm, no. I'm here to fix your door. If you really want me to leave after that, I will," he said, pushing lightly on the door and standing up to poke his head into the room. "Whatever you remember doing, it wasn't you."

"Jack you have no idea what I did this weekend. I was awful!" she wailed. "I was Lonnie!"

"I know a little bit," he muttered. "But it was not you. It was Lonnie. And you weren't alone in the being someone else. Can I come in. Please?"

"Fine," Isabel said quietly, sitting up and scooting to the far back corner of the bed.

He pushed the door open the rest of the way, set what he was carrying down on her desk, pushed the door shut and walked over to sit on her bed. "Are you okay, Izzy?" Which was a stupid question, because she looked anything but.

"Does utterly mortified and extremely ashamed count as okay? Cause if so? I'm fine." She shook her head sadly. "Sam, Dawn, Greg, you even. You all have every right to be so mad at me."

Fandom weirdness suddenly wasn't so funny. "They'll all understand - it wasn't your fault. It was this place. And you were hardly the only one who got switched for someone else." He didn't think she'd figured who he'd been - and he'd be damned if he was going to tell her - so he had to add, "I wouldn't be mad at you, whatever you did, but why would you think I would?"

Isabel picked up a pillow and hugged it. "There's this little matter of where I woke up this morning.

"And where was that?"

She buried her face in the pillow. "With Cedric."

He winced slightly, and put a reassuring hand on her knee. "Okay. And who did he think he was?"

"He still thought he was Cederic Diggory. Just not our Cedric Diggory. He was kind of an ass," Isabel said with a sigh. "For what it's worth, nothing happened. We passed out after drinking a lot of space vodka thank god."

"Oh." And against all expectations, Jack felt a twinge of something he didn't recognise, but he pushed it away. "So it wasn't our Cedric, and it wasn't you, and nothing happened," he said slowly and squeezed her knee. "So let it go and I'll fix your door."

"I'm trying. I think it's just going to take a bit before we can talk to one another without blushing." Beyond grateful that Jack wasn't angry, she slid out of her corner and hugged him. "Thank you. I'd appreicate that. How'd you know it got broken? And oh my god, I have to find whoever that was and apologize."

Jack wrapped his arms around her, glad she was at least that much better. "Yeah, about that." He hung on just a little bit tighter, figuring she wasn't going to take this well. "I know it got broken because I'm the one that broke it."

Isabel pulled back enough to stare at him, then tried to pull away as she remembered all the horrible, horrible things she'd said to him. "I am so so so sorry."

Oh no, he wasn't letting her go. Locking his hands behind her back, he lifted his head so he could see her face. "And I, or rather he, knocked you out and then just about attacked you on the roof. I think we can call it a draw."

"I, she, deserved it. God she was horrible," she tipped her head forward to rest against his shoulder. "Do you think Sam will hate me? I was horrible to her to. She came here looking for you Saturday morning and I was such a bitch to her."

"Sam doesn't hate you. She understands about Fandom weirdness. It's okay, Isabel," he soothed. "And if it makes you feel any better, she'd just come from a naked encounter with a snarling beast."

"Oh god, poor Sam. Well that explains the sheet," Isabel laughed softly. "And she told me you were missing and Lonnie had no clue who you were and she was so pissed at Sam for waking her up. God, can we just forget this whole weekend?"

Jack was actually okay with remembering the weekend. Even though the Beast had been a sap, he'd been completely in love with Sam. And he'd been petted a lot. They were kind of pleasant memories. "We can. We'll just pretend it never happened."
