Room 406, after Rikku's

Still beyond pleased that they actually were able to pull it off, Isabel returned from Rikku's and made a phone call. Then she opened up her laptop and started tracking down spoilers for the season finales of all her favorite shows.

Jack had just missed Isabel's call, mostly because he was under the desk. But once he got her message he dropped everything and ran upstairs to check on her.

Or just to avoid the damn desk, which he was beginning to think was taunting him.

Either way, he was now leaning in her doorway and knocking on the wall. "It all worked and you're fine?"

Isabel put aside the laptop and smiled. "It all worked and I'm fine. I promise. I think I'm still in shock that it did work so well."

"Excellent. And I'm kinda happy you didn't tell me before you started, because I just would have worried," he said, walking over to sit next to her.

"Honestly I didn't expect it to work, so I didn't see a reason to call," she admitted, leaning into his side automatically. "But it did and we got Rikku's friend back. She's so happy."

And it was just as automatic to put his arm around her and tuck her closer. "I like Rikku, I'm glad she got her friend back. Even better that you didn't get hurt." He paused, then grinned. "Do I get Chinese food and a story tonight?"

"There might still be some leftovers in the fridge," Isabel grinned. "But maybe instead of a story we could build a fort? Since you did such a nice job on the one you built with Cedric."

Jack's jaw dropped. "Umm..."

"What's the matter Jack?" she asked, laughing a little.

"Hmmm." His eyes narrowed, his arms snaking around her waist to pull her closer. "Isabellll...how did you know about the fort?"

"I might have stopped by Sunday night to see how your day was," Isabel admitted, laughing even more. "The door was unlocked so I stuck my head in. You two looked so cute."

Jack dropped his head to rest on her shoulder, slowly shaking it back and forth. "Of course. Of course you did," he said, starting to laugh. "At least we were cute?"

"You were very cute. I even have the pictures to prove it," she grinned.

"And you took pictures." He was laughing harder now. "I'm not even slightly surprised. Do I get copies?"

"Cedric says I'm supposed to make you work for them," Isabel teased. "I'm trying to figure out exactly what that involves."

Jack spluttered with laughter and let her go, dropping to lie back on the bed. "I know what it involves if Cedric says it, but I'm pretty sure that's not what he meant!"

She thwapped him lightly on the stomach. "I know that you dork. That's why my options are limited."

"Ow!" Jack rubbed his stomach and gave her a very hurt look. "Izzy, you think I can't come up with anything besides sex to offer? I do have other talents." Okay, most of them related back to it in some way.

Isabel blew him a kiss. "Well start offering. We can negotiate a price per picture. I'll even include the pictures I took of Cedric on Saturday afternoon."

"Those ones I really want." Jack sat up and looked at her thoughtfully. "I can make you dinner?" he offered.

"Will you include something incredibly decadent for dessert?" she asked.

"Yes," he agreed quickly. "Anything you want. Chocolate and coffee and whip cream and caramel, maybe raspberries. Sound decadent enough?"

"Amazingly so. And if any of your other friends turn up, I promise I'll be very nice to them," Isabel teased.

"Aww, come on, Izzy!" Jack gave her puppy dog eyes worthy of his six year old self. "I was tired and hungry, and I just wanted my Isabel," he explained, shifting to rest his head on her leg and look up at her innocently. "And I apologised."

"I think the exact phrase was My Izzy," she laughed, running her fingers through his hair. "You did. You were very cute. And Peter was very good with you."

He closed his eyes and groaned. "I was only six. Who else was I going to come looking for? Of course I wanted my Izzy. It was a bit of a shock to find someone else was here first." He paused and grinned. "And looking very at home, too, I might add. Anything you want to share with me?"
