Room 406, evening

Workshops and Rikku's Party meant Isabel didn't get as much done on Monday as she would have liked. So after crashing the insane class and finishing up at the library Isabel was a little busy getting everything ready. Fortunately by the time 7:00 came, dinner was ready and dessert was hidden out of sight.

He opened the package carefully and said, "You got me a book! Or collection of books!"

"A book? But, but...that was supposed to be a coffee maker!"

"No, this is better!" Cedric said, wide eyed. "I don't like coffee!"

"I'm going to convert you yet." But she laughed at his expression and shook her head. "I think you'll like them. They're classics."

"There will be no converting," he promised and started flipping through the book. "Thank you, Isabel, for thinking of me."

"You're welcome," Isabel smiled, handing him a piece of cake. "Happy birthday."

"Thank you," he said, taking the cake. "I don't feel much older."

"It's hard to feel older then ancient I suppose," she told him, snickering a bit.

"I am not ancient," he said and pouted a bit.

"No? Just well aged? Well preserved? How would you describe yourself then?"

"My bad," she chuckled. "Sorry"

"You're older than me anyway," he pointed out.

Isabel shrugged, "I know. Just call me grandma."

"Well, if you insist," he said and smirked.

"I'm also going to insist that you do the dishes tonight," she told him. "Since I'm so feeble and all."

"It would be the least I could do," he said. "For someone so feeble and all."

"I'll just sit here and age," Isabel nodded. "Besides, shouldn't it be easy for you? Just wave your magic wand and make it all go poof?"

"You'll have to specify which wand," he teased, smiling.

She opened and closed her mouth a few times and then finally shook her head. "Sorry, I refuse to answer the question on the grounds that well...just no."

He grinned and said, "Fair enough. And I wouldn't use either wand to clean dishes, just to let you know."

"Awww, now I'm disappointed. I had visions of the plates dancing around while a jaunty tune played in the background," Isabel laughed. "I think I watched too many Disney movies."

"That happens in Disney movies?"

"There's a whole chorus number with dinnerware in Beauty and the Beast and Fantasia has dancing mops. I've got them if you want to stick around and watch movies for a while," she offered. "Unless you need to get back so Puff won't die of loneliness."

"Puff's more interested in his toys than he is me," Cedric replied. "I want to see dancing mops!"
