406, late afternoon - evening

After work Isabel had gotten some dinner and returned to her room. Her conversation with Professor Lyman had given her a lot to think about. She checked the deadlines and it looked like she could pull it off. But it would mean for the next two and half weeks, she'd have to cut back on socializing with friends until the application was done. It was something she was going to have to think about and decide on soon.

For now though, Isabel opened her laptop and set about writing an email to Maria, to fill her in about certain recent events.

The door was open.

"Maybe," he said. "Hopefully in my case that won't happen. I'd hate to think I was losing a friend though." No. No matter what, Ronan was and would remain, his friend.

He shrugged. "They're not half bad, Isabel, honest. I've had to put up with some crap from them... but... they're not half bad."

There was a good chance there was going to be an implosion at some point Isabel realized. Hopefully people she cared about were going to be too hurt by it.

"No, they're not. You're not jealous are you?" she asked, mostly teasing.

"Pfft, me? Jealous?" Johnny smirked. "Of course I'm not jealous." He looked down at her hand. "I just happen to think you could do better is all."

"I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But for what it's worth? I think you're wrong," Isabel told him. "He's a good guy."

"Maaaaybe," he relented and let go of her hand with another little squeeze. "Guess I better go. Was on my way to call Sue and wanted to say hey first."

"Will she be coming down for Parent's Weekend?" she asked, because if so? Isabel definitely wanted to meet her. "I'm glad you came by."

Johnny sighed. "Unfortunately, yes." All right, it wasn't so bad that Sue was coming down, but he swears, did he have to listen to any of her crap about him growing up... He'd... have to do something about that.

"You bet. My room is always open too you know."

"Oh stop that," Isabel laughed. "It'll be nice to meet your family. And I promise I'll tell her only good things about you."

"Okay, next time, I'll visit you."

He moved towards her door. "Catch you later, sweetheart."
