406, late afternoon - evening

After work Isabel had gotten some dinner and returned to her room. Her conversation with Professor Lyman had given her a lot to think about. She checked the deadlines and it looked like she could pull it off. But it would mean for the next two and half weeks, she'd have to cut back on socializing with friends until the application was done. It was something she was going to have to think about and decide on soon.

For now though, Isabel opened her laptop and set about writing an email to Maria, to fill her in about certain recent events.

The door was open.

Johnny decided to see what Isabel was up to before he made the obligatory call to his sister later.

He didn't walk on in but he did lean his shoulder against the door frame, grinning. "Yo, Izzy, wassup?"

Isabel looked up from her laptop and stared. "What? Did you audition for a role in a mob movie and not tell me?"

"What? You don't like it? I'm practicing, yo. Gonna call Sue later and wanna see if she'll recognize me."

Okay, yeah, talking like that sucked.

"So, can I come in, sweetheart?"

"Only if you speak proper English," she warned. "Gangster will make me hit you."

"No more gangster. I can't do it justice anyway." Johnny walked on in and found a seat on the edge of a bed. Hopefully hers. "So what's been going on lately?" he asked, raising a brow.

Isabel didn't have a roommate. Technically both beds were here.

"I've been working on college applications," she replied. "And now Professor Lyman has me thinking about early admission although I'm still not sure I'm going to do that."

"Seriously?" Johnny said, eyeing her. "Cool. Where are you thinking about going?" Johnny was not going to college.

"Seriously." Setting the laptop and the papers aside, Isabel smiled and shrugged. "Now that the whole planet saving thing is over, I can do what I want. Which I'm pretty sure would mean going to Cornell. It's the best for what I'm looking for."

"...is that where Wyatt is going?"

What? It was an honest question.

"I have have no idea where Wyatt is considering going," she laughed. "This is for me. Why would it matter where he went?"

Johnny shrugged. "Oh, I don't know. Just seemed like a question to ask." He looked around her room for a moment. "So...anything you want to tell me?"

"No," Isabel said innocently.

An effect that was ruined when she started snickering.

"That's good. Cause I don't really want to talk about Mr. Curly," he said even though he was the one to bring him up.

"Think you should go to New York after you graduate."

"Mr. Curly is a very nice guy and I'm going to be spending a lot of time with him," she told him. "I'd like it if you could play nice."

"I'll have to see if they accept me first."

"Why?" Johnny sort of whined and it wasn't very attractive. "He's just... well he's not... can he catch himself on fire and fly?"

Isabel and Wyatt. Johnny didn't like the sound of that. "I think I'm getting a headache. Do you have any aspirin?"

"No. But he can orb me to to Roswell in a blink and TK just like I can," Isabel told him. "Not that that's important."

Rolling her eyes, Isabel disappeared into the bathroom, returning a moment later with a bottle of aspirin and a glass of water. "Here."

Johnny mumbled under his breath while she went into the bathroom. "He can orb me to Roswell in a blink and TK just like I can and big freaking deal... "

He smiled at her and took the asprin when she came back, knocking back a couple with the water. "Thanks, sweetheart. You sure are looking pretty tonight."

"Flatterer," she smiled, taking a seat back on her bed. "So how are you? Did you and Savannah have fun at the dance?"

"We had a great time, Isabel. She looked so beautiful. Did you enjoy yourself? You totally should have saved me a dance."

"I had a good time," Isabel told him, deciding not to get into the more confusing parts of the evening. "I looked for you but there was such a crowd. I must have missed you."

"That's too bad too because I was looking so good. Probably better than anyone else you might have danced with," he said with a wry little smirk.

"I'm sure you looked wonderful. Did anyone take pictures?" she asked. "I'd love to see them. But I don't know, I did dance with a bunch of great looking guys. I'm not sure I'd be able to say who looked the best."

"There were pictures? Uh. Must have missed that part. Maaaan!" He grinned over at her. "You were looking beautiful. I saw you, you know."

"I'm sure someone has pictures somewhere for yearbook or something," Isabel told him. "And if you saw me and didn't come over, well, that means it's your fault we didn't get a chance to dance. Now you're going to have to wait till the Valentine's Dance."

"All right, blame me if it makes you feel better. Not like my head was in the clouds or anything like some people," he smirked. "Valentine's. Hmm. Think you'll wear red and slinky?"
