The Halliwell Manor, Saturday morning

After spending the week worrying about Savannah and trying to get a particularly annoying paper done, Isabel was thrilled when Wyatt invited her to spend the weekend in San Francisco.

Taking advantage of his grandfather being out of town to have a few days to themselves? Never...

After a late night, Isabel was still half asleep when she climbed out of bed, pulled on one of Wyatt's t-shirts, and quietly went in search of the coffee maker, wondering if Wyatt would enjoy breakfast in bed.

"If we're stuck here for the weekend we might as well get to know each other," Fork said, his attitude undampened by the threat. "I promise I'll only nibble."

"Is that supposed to be some sort of come-on?" she sighed. "Because I'm really not impressed."

"You will be," Fork said. "You don't know what it's like to be with a vampire."

"And I'm not finding out!" Isabel replied with distaste. "That's just nasty."

"I could make you a vampire," Fork offered. "You could live forever, stay young and beautiful, like you are now."

"I haven't bought into the advertising," she told him. "I have no trouble with aging gracefully."

"You know other vampires?" Fork asked. She seemed far too familiar with the subject.

"I know one," Isabel admitted. "He's a good friend. It probably has something to do with the fact that he still has his soul."

"A good vampire?" Fork rolled his eyes. "Let me guess, you believe in unicorns and Bigfoot, too."

"Santa Claus and the tooth fairy as well," she said cheerfully. Isabel reached for her coffee and took a sip before making a face when she realized it had gotten cold.

"You know? I need a real breakfast. I'm going to go down and cook something. You're welcome to follow along and try to keep to the shadows. But don't think I won't toss you out the nearest window if you try anything." Except where she most likely wouldn't, too afraid that if something happened to him, she wouldn't get Wyatt back.

"I'm hungry, too," Fork complained. He tried not to be too obvious about eyeing Isabel's neck. He'd settle for a wrist, though the inner thigh was nice, too.

"I'll call the butcher and gets some pig's blood for you," Isabel offered, wondering exactly what she would say to him. Somehow she doubted he'd believe her if she said Hi, can you send blood? I'm babysitting a hungry vampire. Maybe she could say she was making blood pudding.

She was aware of where Fork was looking, and trying hard not to be too squicked by it. It would never happen though. The last thing she wanted Wyatt to wake up with on Monday morning was memory of drinking her blood. The memory of the accent and the hair was going to be more then enough.

Isabel was right about that. Why couldn't he be evil and cool and have good hair? Priorities, priorities!

Fork made a face. "Pig's blood? That's disgusting."

"Well that's all you're getting," she shrugged. "Unless you'd rather have some French toast? Because I think that's what I'm going to make."

"I don't eat food anymore," Fork grumbled. But he was willing to go along with the domesticity if there was a chance Isabel would lower her guard.

"That's too bad," Isabel replied. "Do you miss it?"

"Sometimes," Fork admitted. "I used to like a good burger and fries. And beer."

"I'd miss chocolate. And Tabasco," she replied, heading out the door and down the stairs. "So you haven't been a vampire for all that long?"

Isabel kept glancing over her shoulder, just to make sure he didn't try anything.

Fork was behaving, for now. He shrugged. "About a year or so, I guess. You lose track of time."

She continued moving ahead of him, closing blinds or curtains where she could. Accidentally setting her boyfriend's doppelganger on fire was probably a bad thing.

"Just a year? Angel's over a hundred."

He appreciated that, he really did. But he was distracted from her statement when he caught sight of a picture of Wyatt and Chris hanging on the wall. "What the hell...?"

"I know. You look just like him," Isabel said, perching on the back of couch. "It's weird."

"That's your boyfriend?" Fork said. "Why the hell does he look just like me?"

"Why do you look like him?" she countered, unable to not be amused. It was just like newbie day back in Fandom, watching their poor little brains break.

"I'm better looking," Fork insisted, though he hadn't seen his own reflection in quite some time. "He's too . . . curly."
