Room 406, All day

Isabel made a quick pass through the common room kitchen to fix up a plate of healthy snack food then returned to her room to spend the day trying to keep up with the reading for all her classes. As she settled in with the reading for Interstellar Relations, her mind wandered to something she'd noticed in yesterday's Ethics class. Reaching for her phone, Isabel left a quick message, before opening her book and beginning to read.

After getting Isabel's phone call, Bel walked down a floor to her room and knocked on the door frame. "Hey," he said. "What's up?"

"I think I'm the one that supposed to be asking you that quesion?" she asked as she put aside her book. "You looked a little rumpled when you got to Ethics yesterday."

"Yeah, I, um, I'd been working out," Bel said evasively. It was kind of the truth.

"I see," Isabel nodded. "And I suppose you're going to tell me the bag in the gym bleeds when you hit it now?"

He shrugged. "Okay, so it wasn't in the gym," he admitted. "Didn't feel like punching inanimate objects. I needed a little more."

"A little more?" she asked. "Since the radio didn't mention you fighting, I take it you went off campus?"

"...yes?"

"I see." Isabel sat up straighter and studied Bel. "The way I see it, you did one of two things then. You could have gone and beat the hell out of some poor schlub that probably did deserve it. Of course there's always a chance of the wrong people, like the cops, walking in and not understanding. Or you could have gone somewhere where being arrested really wasn't an issue," she said calmly. "Am I close?"

"All right, so I went to the Underworld," Bel said. "I needed to work some things out and that was the only place I could do it."

"Are you out of your freaking mind?" she asked, her voice rising with each word until she was yelling. "Gee, I need to work things out, so let me go where they want to kill me? My god, testosterone really does kill brain cells."

"I was pissed off," Bel said sullenly. "You don't want me around here when I'm pissed off."

"So you go out into the perserve and burn down a tree, or yell and scream and curse. You don't go risking yourself in the Underworld," Isabel said, making an effort to speak calmly. "Did you even stop to think what would have happened if you'd been hurt or worse down there? No one would have known. Can you imagine how upset Phoebe would have been if you just disappeared? What if she tried to go look for you?"

"I know how to take care of myself," Bel snapped defensively. "I didn't survive this long without knowing how to."

Jamie knocked on the doorframe holding a few garbage bags in his arms. "Hey Isabel. Do you have any garbage that needs to be removed."

"Hi Jamie. There's some crumpled up paper in the can next to the desk," she said. "But I've already gotten rid of everything else. I tossed it when I changed the litter box yesterday."

"Thanks," Jamie said entering the room and getting the trash. "Is there anything I can do to make the campus more beautiful for you?"

"Anytime I guess," Isabel laughed. "Mi trash es su trash. I'd like to see more flowers. Especially crocuses. They're always so pretty when the start to poke up through the snow. They make you realize that winter won't last forever."

"Flowers," Jamie repeated as he pulled out a notebook and scribbled it down. "Crocuses. Gotcha. Thanks Isabel. Congratulations on your win."

"Thanks, and back at you!" she smiled. "I think we'll have a very good year. We had a lot of fun doing stuff last semester."

"Plus it's one step closer to overthrowing the system and taking over the school for ourselves," Jamie said with a grin.

"Now that's a scary thought," Isabel said. "Although I suppose it could be entertaining in a odd sort of way."

"Yes. And then we can use our newfound governmental powers to create a new utopia for Fandom High," Jamie replied.

"What would make Fandom a utopia for you?" she asked.

"Well it has to be a utopia for everyone," Jamie replied. "So I'm guessing it would have to be either shirtless or pantless to begin with."

"You know, you might actually have something there," Isabel laughed. "My personal vote would be for shirtless. Cause shirtless day was very pretty."
